The Team
I want to mention the people who work so hard for the Hands of Love students. Our team is incredible.
The management team, Lilian, our headteacher and Esther, the admin assistant, complete a power of work each day. They have been incredibly supportive support to the Director.
Margaret (Mama Abu), and Erick, our caretakers, have the most tasking job of keeping our school clean. Their in-depth knowledge and connection with communities in Kariobangi and Korogocho, where most our students live, have been invaluable. During these extraordinary times, Erick took up additional roles in helping teachers coordinate students' arrival in the morning and departures in the evening.
Our cooks: Maurine & Carol are the engines that keep the school running. They ensure that the students are fed and ready to learn. Every day, they are the first to report for duty and often the last to leave. We appreciate the challenging work they do.
Our Teachers: Lilian, Pauline, Lucy, Justus, Phylis, Monica, Linda, and Amolo - outstandingly form the backbone of our school. Hands of Love School has continued to operate seamlessly, with a consistently high academic performance, owing our teachers' resilience and sheer strength of character.
A special mention of our volunteer Tony who does a great job in keeping our website updated. He was also instrumental in securing funding the ongoing “Inclusion of People with Disability in Education project” at Hands of Love.
